Silver Spring Networks

OVERVIEW

SilverSpring Networks is a company that develops software for SmartMeter devices - they came to Rasteroids needing a means to securely deploy files, guides and software updates to their clients. Unlike typical file systems that have user/group/world rights, SilverSpring needed an easily-managed solution that would incorporate a complex mix of unique rights for companies, teams, products to individual users.

APPLICATION AND USER RIGHTS

Rasteroids worked with Silver Spring in developing their vision for this platform called SpringBoard, starting with rights, roles and security.  We created process workflows to ensure that their unique file distribution needs were met securely. Rasteroids meshed the front-facing corporate design into SpringBoard for a seamless transition. The portal included per-client content and customization upon login, for a branded but familiar experience to the user.  The result was a unique file system initially - and eventually paved way for a multi-purpose system that included email notifications, communication forums and client-facing tools through a single online portal. 

CONCLUSION

The result is a file distribution portal that provides the correct software to the correct companies, and the proper individuals within those organizations.
